Posture, Tensions & Labour Dynamics

A practical CPD training for clinicians and movement professionals supporting pregnancy & birth.

Go Beyond Generic Pregnancy Exercise Prescription

Most clinicians are taught to strengthen the pelvic floor in pregnancy.

Few are taught how to assess:

• How posture influences baby’s position
• Where tension patterns may restrict pelvic space
• Why some labours progress smoothly — and others stall
• How to select movements intentionally for each stage of labour

Clinical Birth Preparation gives you a structured framework to assess the pregnant body and prepare it intelligently for birth.

This is not a list of exercises.

It’s a clinical reasoning model.

This Training Will Help You:

✔ Assess alignment and posture in pregnancy
✔ Identify tension patterns affecting labour dynamics
✔ Understand how baby’s positioning interacts with the maternal body
✔ Select targeted exercises based on what you observe
✔ Teach stage-specific movement strategies to maximise pelvic space
✔ Guide partner positioning during labour
✔ Structure a clear, confident birth preparation appointment (for clinicians)

You’ll move from:

“Let’s try this exercise…”

To:

“This is why this strategy will support your labour.”

The Framework

This training is structured into two core components:

Assessment & Strategy

You’ll learn how to:

• Assess posture and alignment in pregnancy
• Identify gripping, asymmetry, and tone patterns
• Understand how these influence baby’s position
• Select exercises and release strategies based on findings

You’ll begin to see pregnancy differently — not as a condition to manage, but as a dynamic system to assess.

Labour Movement & Application

You’ll learn how to:

• Teach stage-specific movement strategies for labour
• Maximise space in the pelvis at each stage
• Guide breath-led release
• Support partner positioning
• Structure a birth prep appointment confidently

For clinicians (physios, osteos, etc.), you’ll gain clarity on how to frame and deliver a birth preparation consultation.

For yoga teachers and movement professionals, you’ll learn how to integrate this into your classes safely and effectively.

Who This Is For

This training is ideal for:

• Physiotherapists
• Osteopaths
• Chiropractors
• Women’s health clinicians
• Yoga teachers working with pregnancy
• Movement professionals supporting pregnant clients

If you want a clearer, more structured approach to birth preparation — this is for you.

This Is Not For You If:

✖ You’re looking for a purely hands-on/manual therapy course
✖ You want a generic list of pregnancy exercises
✖ You are not currently working with pregnant clients

This is about clinical reasoning and movement strategy.

Why This Matters

Birth is not just about strength.

It is about:

Alignment.
Tension.
Space.
Timing.
Movement.

When you understand how posture and tone influence labour dynamics, your recommendations become intentional — not reactive.

This is the difference between guessing and guiding.
